MAC Archie's Girls - Swatches of my Purchases

Oh happy days - they finally arrived.  I can now relax a little knowing I got my hands on a couple of lovely lipsticks and the Betty Mascara.  Believe me I had to dial it down quite a bit, I could have got much more but with spending ban guilt weighing heavily on my mind (and quite rightfully so) I feel I did pretty well.

Lovely packaging below:

My two lipsticks in all their glory:

(Cuteness)

(Ronnie Red - left.... Betty Bright - right)

(Ronnie Red - left..... Betty Bright - Right)

The red colour is a lot more matte than the peachy/orangy colour, which has a bit of a sheen to it - not sure if you can make this out on the photo.  As a result, the lasting power of the red is unrivalled  I managed to eat lunch and drink a large glass of water and it was still in place.  I'm very impressed.

Below is the mascara - yet to test this so I do apologise but thought you might appreciate the picture of the wand - it's a particularly old school brush, I'm so used to seeing all these fancy new style ones (think Maybelline Rocket etc) that I was quite surprised by this.  Retro!

So there you have it.  I'm a happy girl. Best buy out of all three? It has to be the Ronnie Red Lipstick.  And I  always thought I was more of a Betty fan....

MAC Archie's Girls - Available Online Now at Selfridges

Hey all - I have to say a big thank you to Kat (www.talesofapaleface.com) for informing me bright and early that Selfridges are now selling the MAC Archie's Girls Collection.  So far as I can tell they have exclusive rights in the UK for a short time, before it's released on the MAC UK website.  So if you can't wait, hop on over to www.selfridges.com and get buying!

I couldn't resist, despite the spending ban.  In my defence I had already set some money aside for this day.... that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

I plumped for two lipsticks, 'Ronnie Red' and 'Betty Bright' and a Mascara, which I thought was quite tame of me.

Swatches to follow.....

What will you buy?

The Harcombe Diet Phase 2 and Me Time

This weekend I devoted some much needed me time to myself.

I've been on Phase 2 of the Harcombe Diet for over a week now and I really needed a weekend where I could avoid the temptation of food and to also have that perfect excuse to catch up on my new Made in Chelsea Box Set (I'm obsessed) and catch up on sleep.  I struggle with sleep but since starting this new way of eating, it's slowly becoming something that I find much easier.  Just goes to show that what you put in can affect you much more than you realise.  I've not been an angel - I've had a couple of bottles of nice red wine which you are allowed (ok, they say in moderation but I've never been good at that where red wine is concerned) but even with this, I haven't cheated once food wise and I'm feeling quite smug.  I'll do another weigh in shortly and report back on how it's going.

I've recently purchased some exciting cult beauty products which I'll be reviewing in upcoming posts (pic of one, below).  I shall also be undertaking a spending ban for February and March, as I've more than enough stuff to get through and I'm desperately trying to save money for a flight so I can have a good holiday later this year.  My excitement for the upcoming ,MAC Archies Girls' range is palpable and I need to get stashing some pennies aside so I can pretty much help myself

(One of the products I've bought and shall review soon)

Watch this space.... and take care x

MAC - Archie's Girls

I could not be more excited about this one - browsing the web I discovered that MAC are bringing out a new collection entitled 'Archie's Girls'.

Anyone who was a fan of these comics growing up (I might be giving my age away here) will share my glee.  They'll be available in the states soon and in the UK a little later (if what I read is correct).  I cannot wait to get my hands on anything they have to offer.  I was always a Betty fan myself. Anyone with more information? I'd love to hear it!
